Porcelain slabs have zero porosity, a consequence of the sinterization and ultra-compaction process. This zero porosity and lack of the micro-defects that cause tension or weak spots mark the difference! The slabs are large and light which creates new possibilities for a different kitchen, bathroom and/or fireplace designs. They are even book matched so you can put two identical pieces side by side on your walls for an artistic marble appearance.
